Aim of the Department
To produce knowledge in
the fields of education, management and sectoral areas related to Gastronomy
and Culinary Arts, to introduce innovations in gastronomy and culinary arts
practices at national and international level, and to contribute to the
provision of production and service with the principle of sustainability from
food, which is one of the most important sources of gastronomy, the culture,
heritage and traditions of societies. In addition, to train human resources who
have the managerial and technical knowledge, skills and equipment required for
the promotion and dissemination of Turkish culinary culture in the
international arena, who have a developed sense of social responsibility, and
who have adopted ethical values as a principle.
Goals of the Department
- To train qualified
workers, middle and upper level management candidates for the tourism and food
and beverage sector through a modern, scientific and quality education in the
field of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts.
- To train qualified
employees who can evaluate the results and possibilities of the developments in
terms of the country and the business and put them into practice in business
life.
- To ensure that they are
individuals who closely follow current and future technologies, can make
predictions about sector trends, and can transform their knowledge into
practice in management processes from planning to control.
- To educate individuals
who have an entrepreneurial spirit, can observe opportunities, and have a
lifelong learning approach to become self-confident managers with solid
foundations.
- To train employees who
respect human rights, observe ecological balance, and adopt a management
approach that is conscious of sustainability and responsibility.
Career Opportunities
Individuals who receive
education in this department have the opportunity to find jobs in different
working positions in the kitchen and food and beverage departments of food and
beverage establishments, accommodation establishments, cruise companies and
catering establishments. In addition, graduates of this department complete
their personal development;

opportunity to work as hotel kitchen cooks, restaurant kitchen cooks,
restaurant cooks and institutional staff cooks.
- They can work as food
and beverage consultants in businesses such as restaurants and restaurants.

CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION
Admission and
registration to the faculty is regulated within the framework of the Higher
Education Law and rules. Students are admitted to the faculty according to the
results of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) and Foreign Student
Admission Exam (YÖS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center
(ÖSYM). For admission to the faculty, the registrations of candidates who have
received sufficient points from YKS and YÖS are made at the University
Rectorate on the dates determined by the Council of Higher Education. Documents
required for registration; 1) High school and equivalent school diploma, 2)
Placement result document made by ÖSYM.
