The Faculty of Tourism was established with the Presidential decree dated 09 January 2019, numbered 576, and published in the Official Gazette. Eğirdir School of Tourism and Hotel Management laid the foundations of the Faculty of Tourism. Eğirdir School of Tourism and Hotel Management was established within Süleyman Demirel University with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2011/2276 published in the Official Gazette dated 24 October 2011 and numbered 28094. It was structured as three departments: Accommodation Management, Travel Management, and Food and Beverage Management, and the Department of Accommodation Management, the Department of Travel Management and the Department of Food and Beverage Management under these departments.

Isparta University of Applied Sciences was established as the second university of Isparta with the "Law No. 7141 on the Amendment of Higher Education Law and Some Laws and Decree Laws", which entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette dated 18 May 2018 and numbered 30425. 4 faculties, 2 colleges, and 17 vocational schools within the body of Süleyman Demirel University, which was established in 1992, were separated from Süleyman Demirel University and affiliated with the newly established Isparta University of Applied Sciences. Eğirdir Tourism and Hotel Management School was also separated from Süleyman Demirel University and affiliated with Isparta University of Applied Sciences.

With the Presidential decree dated 09 January 2019 and numbered 576, Eğirdir Tourism and Hotel Management School was closed, and the Faculty of Tourism was established instead. Thus, it became one of the six faculties of Isparta University of Applied Sciences. With the establishment of the Faculty of Tourism, changes were made in the institutional structures of the departments.
