Our Head of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Yılmaz, served as a jury member at the Mediterranean Seafood Festival – Gastro Tunisia (International Seafood Festival), organized by The Golden Falcons Culinary Association of Tunisia and hosted by Hotel Regency in Hammamet, Tunisia, between June 20-22, 2025. The festival, which brought together chefs, gastronomy experts, and academics from 24 different countries, saw Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Yılmaz evaluate the seafood-themed dishes of the contestants from a scientific and artistic perspective in the international culinary competition. The festival also showcased the richness and diversity of Turkish cuisine on an international platform, and shared information about Isparta's local gastronomic values. At the end of the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Yılmaz was presented with a plaque for his contributions to Turkish gastronomy. During the festival, meetings were held with academics and chefs from different countries to discuss international collaborations and joint projects in the field of gastronomy. In this context, opportunities for collaboration on a multinational Erasmus project were evaluated with Ralf B. Meneghini.
